Students on study leave are causing chaos at Murlough Nature Reserve. Teenagers, as young as 16, have been using the local beauty spot for parties, both day and night. A National Trust official says the issue has become an annual problem.
The conservation charity has teamed up with local police and the NI Environment Agency in a bid to try and stop the problem from escalating. Schools, not just local ones, have also been contacted.
Parents and guardians, some of whom have been spotted by police waiting to collect their teenagers in a layby close to the reserve as recently as Friday night, have been asked to help bring an end to the situation.
