In the Big Cup final of the Pat Jennings Newry, Mourne, and Down Junior Girls Schools’ League Cup, Kilkeel High faced Assumption Grammar. Kilkeel came into the match as underdogs, having been beaten 8-0 by Assumption in the group stages.
However, the game was much closer this time, with both teams starting strongly and maintaining a tight contest throughout.
Kilkeel showed resilience and determination, playing a more composed game than in their earlier encounter.
Despite their efforts, Assumption ultimately won 3-1. It was an exciting match, with chances at both ends and impressive skills on display from the players.
