Ballynahinch United are on the hunt for a new first team manager after Kyle Rendall stepped down from the role due to work commitments. The club posted on its Facebook page last Wednesday, welcoming applications.
Rendall re-joined as manager in the summer of 2024 after initially leaving Millbridge in 2022. Last season, United narrowly avoided relegation to Division 2A of the Northern Amateur Football League, finishing 12th in Division 1C in an injury-plagued campaign.
There was optimism at Millbridge during pre-season, with several new players joining Ballynahinch, including Tom Nelson (Saintfield), Simon Johnston (Orangefield), Dave Osbourne (Agape), Jake Redmond (Moneyslane), Glenn Moffett (Agape) and Martin L’Estrange (St Luke’s).
But the opening months of the campaign have proven to be a challenge, with Ballynahinch picking up just two wins in their opening 13 games of the season in all competitions. The men in sky blue currently sit 12th in the 1C table with seven points following an impressive 2-1 win at home to Orangefield Old Boys on Saturday.
Mark Leahy has been appointed as interim manager and oversaw the Orangefield game on Saturday. If you’re interested in applying for the first team manager role at Ballynahinch, you can email ballynahinchunited@hotmail.com or message any of the club’s social media pages.
