    Briege retires after an ‘exceptional career devoted to caring for others’

    A LOCAL nurse has been praised for her kindness, compassion and “unwavering commitment”.

    The South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust has paid tribute to Briege Magee, who is retiring after 46 years of dedicated service. The local health Trust said her retirement brings “to a close an exceptional career devoted to caring for others”.

    Briege was a highly valued member of the Downpatrick District Nursing Team.

    “Throughout her career, Briege provided compassionate nursing care to countless patients in their own homes, supporting individuals and their families through some of life’s most challenging times,” a Trust statement said.

    “Her professionalism, kindness and unwavering commitment earned the respect of colleagues and the gratitude of the many people whose lives she touched.”

    The Trust added that colleagues gathered to celebrate Briege’s “remarkable” career and to thank her for her “outstanding contribution to community nursing”.
