BRYANSFORD beat Liatroim this week in the relegation play off and will remain in the Senior Championship.
The season was a disappointing one for the club as they had hoped to do better in the senior championship.
But for those in Bryansford who are looking for a positive from a season that appears negative, they should take a look at the numbers. Despite the season being at an end, Jim had a squad of 35 players to call upon in autumn — that’s a lot more than even some of the teams that reached the latter stages of the championship.
“The commitment that the boys have shown has been fantastic,” he said. “Even though the reserve league finished up in June, we were still having challenge games against the likes of Glasdrumman and Dromara, just to keep the squad playing and interested.”
And he added that the squad looks set to get bigger. “From our minor team, there are going to be another four or five coming through next year.”
At the time of writing, no decision had been made as to whether Jim will be going forward for a third year as manager.
