BRYANSFORD will not hide the fact that their goal this season is to earn promotion to Division One.

While some teams prefer not to set any hard and fast goals for their future, new manager Mark Copeland has made it clear that the team have a definitive ambition.

“There is no point denying it, we are looking to get out of Division Two,” Mark said.

“They have been close this last two years.

“A couple of results went against them last year and that ended up in them not being in the top two.

They will be looking to rectify that and see if we can try to get out of Division Two.”

Mark is managing the team alongside Ciaran Brannigan, Declan Murray, and Sean Brennan.

They took over the team after Jim Magorrian decided to move on after his second term.

On taking over the Bryansford team, Mark realised that the club had a goal.

“Discussions with the committee and with the players have made it clear that they want to be playing at the higher standard of football in Division One.

The only way to do that is to get promoted.

“They have had a number of years in Division Two where some of those younger players have got introduced to senior football, so maybe now is the time to push on and play at the top table.”

Mark has been involved with a number of clubs in Down at different levels.

He has been impressed by the Bryansford players since he came on board.

“The attitude has been good there and there has been buy-in from the start.

“A new manager will do that anyway.

“The attendance and numbers at training highlight that.

“Results will be the big thing that we are looking for.”

Bryansord’s first game is against Rostrevor. Manager mark Copeland knows that team well having mangaed them before. See what he said about them in the full story.
