BEING drawn to play Bryansford in the next round of the championship is great for Castlewellan because it provides the perfect motivation to lift their spirits after a demoralising defeat to Burren in round one.

That is the analysis of manager Tony Wilson ahead of one of the biggest derbies of the weekend.

He revealed how the attitude in the camp changed after finding out that they had been picked to play their neighbours.

“The boys were down after losing to Burren.

“But when the draw came out it gave them a lift for training on Wednesday. Training was a whole lot easier for us on Wednesday night (after the draw) than on Monday night (before the draw).”

In tomorrow’s Mourne Observer read the full story as Tony explains the challenges Castlewellan have faced, how they are preparing for the next round, and why he thinks Kilcoo may face a bigger challenge than he thought.
