Castlewellan Town are on the hunt for a new first team manager after parting ways with Glynn Robinson.

Robinson was announced as the successor to John Young in June 2024, marking his return to local football after taking a number of years out of the game. He had previously coached at Ballynahinch United, Newcastle, Dromara, and Drumaness Mills. Under his leadership, Castlewellan finished in sixth place in NAFL 1C.

Commenting on the club’s decision to move in a different direction, Robinson said: “I’ve been in football long enough to understand you could be at a club for three months or three years; circumstances dictate, and myself and Castlewellan have decided to part company.

“I wanted back in (to management) after being out of it for a couple of years – Castlewellan were good enough to give me that opportunity and I’m grateful for that. I wish them all the best and I hope to see them at the top of 1C next season and pushing to get into 1B.”

In the current issue, read more about why things didn’t work out for Castlewellan this year.
