CASTLEWELLAN Town are on the hunt for a new manager after the club announced last week that John Young would be leaving Corrigan Park.
Appointed in 2022, Young led the Town to back-to-back promotions in the Amateur League and secured the NAFL 2A title last season. He also guided the club to its first ever County Antrim Junior Shield final.
Applications are now open for the management role, as the Bann Road side look towards pre-season preparations, ahead of what will be the club’s first-ever campaign in intermediate football.
A Castlewellan Town statement published on social media c
onfirmed that John Young had “resigned from his position with immediate effect.”The statement went on to say, “We would like to wish John all the best for whatever the future holds for him in local football.”
“We’d like to invite interested parties to apply for the now vacant first team manager role. We have retained our squad from last season, and with the new campaign beginning in August, have everything in place for a new manager to come in and hit the ground running.”
