CANCER Fund for Children is celebrating the difference Daisy Lodge has made to so many families over the past decade.

To mark ten years of the therapeutic short break centre, near Newcastle, the charity is hosting a special coffee morning next month.

It will take place at Daisy Lodge on Thursday the 6th of June, from 10am to 2pm.

Cancer Fund for Children would like to invite everyone in Newcastle and the wider community to join them “to thank them for the incredible support” they have given the charity across the last 10 years.

Raph O’Connor, residential services manager at Daisy Lodge, said: “We can’t believe that we’re coming up on the 10th birthday of Daisy Lodge and we’re so excited to mark this milestone by celebrating the community that has made it possible.

“From businesses to community groups and individuals, the support we have received and the generosity and kindness we have experienced has completely blown us away.

“We think it’s only right to highlight that, which is why we’re hosting this special coffee morning.

“Whether you’ve supported Daisy Lodge since the beginning, or simply want to learn more about this facility that operates in your community, everyone is welcome. We can’t wait to see you there!”

Since opening Daisy Lodge in 2014, Cancer Fund for Children has provided almost 4,000 families from across the island of Ireland with a therapeutic short break, giving them a space to reconnect and spend time together following a cancer diagnosis.

As well as this service, Cancer Fund for Children also provides emotional, social and therapeutic support in hospital and at the family home through their dedicated team of cancer support specialists.
