THE Quoile Invitational Bowling League came to a conclusion for the season with the cup and plate finals and presentation at Ballygowan on Thursday evening.

Having won the Quoile League Championship, Comber overcame Saintfield in the Quoile Cup final to complete an impressive league and cup double while league runners up Owenbeg defeated Crossgar in the Quoile Plate final.

At the Presentation Quoile Vice Chairman Hugh Porter paid tribute to the recently deceased Quoile League Chairman, Andy Campbell and welcomed Andy’s widow Geraldine to the proceedings.

With the indoor season now concluded, all eyes focus on the upcoming outdoor season.

On Saturday 13 April, the opening of Owenbeg Bowling Breen by club president Jimmy Mills begins at 2pm. There will be a buffet, refreshments, music and target bowls.

Current and former members are all welcome as is anyone, from any background, of any age, who is interested in taking up the sport. Bowls and coaching available on the day.

The committee look forward to seeing you there. We are also appealing to a younger generation of people to help the sport continue to flourish.
