THE district rate will rise by almost four per cent in the new financial year.
At Monday’s monthly local authority meeting, a 3.98 per cent increase was carried by 26 votes to five.
Sinn Fein, the SDLP, David Taylor (UUP, Slieve Gullion), and Mark Gibbons all gave it their backing, while the DUP went against.
For the second year running all five Alliance Councillors abstained.
