HOWZAT! Dundrum Cricket Club in County Down had cause for celebration this week after running away with a £1,000 grant towards much-needed equipment in an exclusive Northern Ireland-only competition, organised by KP Snacks, Official Team Partner of The Hundred. The competition was part of a campaign run by KP Snacks to reach out to local communities and encourage more people to get active through cricket this summer. Inspired by the win, Dundrum’s Second XI team went on to secure promotion to the Northern Cricket Union Junior League 4 on Friday night with a thrilling one-run victory on the very last ball against Donaghcloney Mill’s Third XI. Ricky Watts (back) and John Baxter (front) from KP Snacks (NI) joined players from Dundrum’s ladies and youth teams to congratulate them and hand over the all-important cheque for £1,000 which will be spent on protective gear, training equipment and initiatives to help grow the game in the area and membership at the club.
