DOWN will show Cavan the utmost amount of respect in Sunday’s championship semi-final.

That’s according to manager Peter Lynch who says to do otherwise would be disastrous.

He told the Mourne Observer, “We played Cavan last year in a challenge game. Anyone who writes off Cavan would be very foolish.

“Cavan competed in senior for the best part of a decade. Some of those players have moved on but Cavan underage and Cavan schools have been really successful.

“There is a conveyer belt of talent there added to the experience they have at a higher grade than us in recent times. That counts for something. We respect every team but we don’t fear any team.”
