NAFL Clarence Cup quarter-final
Drumaness Mills 6 1st Bangor Old Boys 2
DRUMANESS Mills booked their spot in the NAFL Clarence Cup semi-final for the second consecutive season after comfortably dispatching of Bangor Old Boys at Meadowvale on Saturday.
One of the local games that survived the wrath of Storm Kathleen, the Mills started the brighter of the two sides, with the first shot on goal coming from captain Gary Murdock, well saved by Bangor keeper Tony Galbraith.
Drumaness forward Jamie Sharvin was the next to come close, with his superb volleyed effort sailing just over the bar.
The opener did arrive on seven minutes however when Eoin Rooney fired home emphatically.
Drumaness were the team in command with Bangor struggling to contain them.
On 14 minutes the home side’s lead was almost doubled but Bangor defender Jordan Blair done well to clear Eoin Murray’s goal bound shot off the line.
