Following their most recent defeat in the LGFA Adult League Division Three, the Dundrum team have accepted that 2025 is going to be a challenging year.

Dundrum lost to St Michael’s last Thursday by 4-6 to 0-4. Previous to that, they were beaten by Bredagh’s B team, 6-18 to 2-15.

Patrick Curry, who is part of the management team along with Martin Coughlan, Emma Owens, and Gavin Rice, said that the villagers are going to be tested this year.

“We’ve had two league games to date. We came up against a very strong Bredagh B team at home in our first game. We played St Michael’s in our second game. They were physically a lot stronger than us and it’s something we will have to adapt to quickly at senior level.”

Patrick expects the challenge in Division Three this season to be at a similar level to those first two games.

“This year Division Three is going to be extremely competitive. Bredagh B have come down from Division Two and with their numbers are going to be very strong for this level.

“Last year Carryduff B and Annaclone finished joint second and we would expect both to be strong again this year.

“Clonduff, Mayobridge and St Michael’s have been good the last few years. Teconnaught have produced very good underage teams in the past few years, and with a bigger panel this year, I’d expect them to improve on their showing last year.”
