MUFL Division Two
Dunnaman 5 Goodyear 3
DUNNAMAN started life in Division Two of the Mid-Ulster League with a 5-3 victory over Goodyear FC.
Dunnaman started the game in great fashion, and played some fantastic football.
Ryan McMillan’s side took a deserved lead, when Harrison showed great composure inside the box to finish into the bottom corner after the Goodyear keeper failed to deal with McMillan’s shot.
Dunnaman made it 2-0 soon after with an early goal of the season contender from McDowell. After receiving the ball from Campbell in midfield, he let rip from 30 yards out and the ball flew into the back of the net, what a great goal.
Dunnaman went into the break 2-0 up but with the quality of play in the first half, it should have been more.
The second half started but unfortunately Dunnaman hadn’t, and the Mourne Esplanade men conceded a goal to give the visitors belief, just nine minutes after the restart.
McMillan’s team remained creative with their play but conceded the next goal to level the tie.
The team in red, to their credit, lifted their heads and started to play football again.
Harper restored the lead when he rose highest and placed a header into the top corner following an outstanding cross by McComb.
Marsh came off the bench and made it 4-2 soon after to give Dunnaman breathing space but again, Goodyear pulled a goal back to make it a nervey finish.
McComb eventually settled the tie and deserved his goal, finishing off at the back post after a quality delivery from Miceal.
Next up for Dunnaman is an away trip to Armagh Celtic.
