MEMBERS of Kilkeel Fire and Rescue Service are once again “truly overwhelmed” by the generosity of the local community and businesses after raising over £3,500 during their annual Christmas Eve street collection in aid of The Firefighters Charity. The Fire Fighters Charity offers specialist lifelong support for members of the UK fire services community, empowering individuals to achieve mental, physical and social wellbeing throughout their lives.
They provide independent, personalised support to thousands of people each year, and exist to support all fire and rescue service personnel. They are also there for all those who have retired, as well as for spouses and dependants. Members of Kilkeel Fire and Rescue Service stated: “The generosity and kindness expressed to us from the entire community during our annual street collection continues to touch our hearts. “Not only the very kind and generous donations but also the words of thanks and kindness afforded to us. “Everyone at Kilkeel Fire Station would like to offer our thanks and wish the whole community a happy and prosperous 2022.
