A TEACHER at Kilkeel High School has been named French Teacher of the Year 2024.
Mrs Yuna Rybarczyk is Head of Modern Languages at Kilkeel High School.
“Yuna has been awarded the top accolade for her passion and drive in teaching the subject in Northern Ireland for 13 years,” explained a spokesperson for the local school.
In the face of competition from nominees across the UK, Mrs Rybarczyk received the award from the French Institute in London, which champions the French language and culture.
The award is particularly linked to her work with SEN pupils at Kilkeel High School, as well as the formation of a link between the languages department and a local primary school.
Yuna also runs the French Cultural and Educational Association of Northern Ireland, which aims to teach the French language and to celebrate French culture amongst young Francophones settled in NI.
