DUNNAMAN manager Ryan McMillan will have been delighted that Dunnaman’s game against Donacloney survived the recent winter cold snap after his side recorded an emphatic 12-1 victory on Saturday.

Michael Harper grabbed a hat-trick, while Shane McDowell, Ryan O’Hare and Darragh McMillan grabbed two goals each.

Kearney, Rodgers and McAlinden were also on the scoresheet as the Mourne men ran riot at the Esplanade.

“Donacloney aren’t easily beaten, so I was a bit shocked to win by that much.

“But it was very pleasing. We had Coalisland in the Mid-Ulster Shield in our last game before Christmas and we got beaten 6-1, so it was nice to get a good response and a great performance from the lads”, McMillan explained.

Seven different Dunnaman goal scorers on the day was another pleasing aspect for the manager.

“Two of our substitutes scored, Darragh McMillan and Ryan O’Hare, and it was really good to see goals coming from everywhere, you can never just be reliant on one player.”

Former Dunnaman player McMillan was happy to see Michael Harper’s name on the scoresheet, as the striker ended a ten-game goal drought in spectacular fashion.

“The most pleasing aspect was probably Michael Harper ending his goal drought. He’d gone ten games without a goal, but I kept faith in him and everybody, both the team and the spectators, were relieved to see him get back on the scoreboard.

“Now Michael’s back and full of confidence, which can only be a good thing for the team.”

The manager also provided an update on the health of injured club captain Darragh Campbell. Read the full story now.
