MURLOUGH AC enjoyed a fantastic day out at the Carlingford Half Marathon/10k on Saturday, with strong performances, personal bests and plenty of team spirit on display.

Travelling together on the club coach, runners made the most of a beautiful sunny morning as they headed to the scenic County Louth town of Carlingford for the popular charity race, which raises funds for St Brigid’s School.

For many athletes it was a day of personal achievement.

Several runners recorded personal bests, while others were taking part in their first race or returning to competition after injury.

Throughout the event, club members showed great encouragement for one another, creating a positive and supportive atmosphere from start to finish.

The trip itself was also a memorable one.

The coach journey to Carlingford proved lively and entertaining, with plenty of laughs along the way.

After the race, the group enjoyed a well earned meal together before beginning the journey home.

The return trip was equally enjoyable, rounding off a great day for everyone involved, with some runners continuing the post-race celebrations later that evening in the Donard Bar.

Overall, it was a brilliant day out filled with great performances, camaraderie and plenty of good humour, highlighting once again the strong spirit within the club.

Murlough AC congratulates everyone who took part and represented the club.
