A Newcastle teenager with a passion for performing certainly has a ‘lot’ of memories from an “unforgettable” trip during the school holidays. It certainly was a summer to remember for Chloe Brannigan when she attended the Pixie Lott Performing Arts Academy in England.
Led by the highly successful singer, songwriter and actor, the talented 18-year-old said she was thrilled to rub shoulders with Lott and described the five-day summer school as “a whirlwind of activity.”
She said one of the standout moments was when she and her fellow students had the opportunity to audition for the star, something Chloe said was “nerve-wracking” but also one of the “most thrilling” experiences she has had on her theatre journey to date.
Chloe, a former student of Shimna Integrated College, is also a member of the Newcastle Glees Musical Society and attends Mourne Stars Speech and Drama. She credits her involvement with both groups, saying they have instilled “such strong foundations” for her theatre journey.
The final day was the highlight of the whole experience, as Chloe explained: “After an intense but rewarding week of rehearsals, the entire cast came together to perform a 90-minute showcase for Pixie, our families, and friends. The show included everything we had worked on, from big group numbers to solo performances, and it was great to see everyone shine. A particular favourite was our Beatles medley, which brought together singing and dancing in a lively and colourful performance that had the audience clapping along.”
