U-19s Dominate Larne
Newcastle Netball Club’s U-19 team delivered a commanding 60–9 victory over Larne at Strathearn School, Belfast. From the first whistle, Newcastle displayed maturity and composure, with excellent communication and intelligent use of space driving seamless transitions from defence to attack. The team’s discipline and teamwork were evident throughout all four quarters, maintaining intensity and focus from start to finish. Key aspects of their performance included clinical finishing in attack, high defensive pressure, and strong support off the ball. This dominant display highlights both the current ability and exciting potential of the U-19 squad.

Newcastle Pinks Progress in Senior Shield
The Newcastle Pinks overcame Phoenix 51–35 in an NNI Senior Shield quarter-final at Antrim Forum. Newcastle started strongly, converting turnovers into attacking opportunities and controlling the first half with precise passing and fluid movement. Phoenix fought back in the third quarter, applying pressure and closing the gap, but Newcastle showed resilience to regain control. Despite being temporarily reduced to six players due to injury and sickness in the final quarter, the team maintained defensive intensity and composure, closing out the match convincingly. The win secures their place in the Senior Shield semi-final on Saturday, 28 March.

Social Squad Enjoys Fun-Filled Tournament
Newcastle’s Social Squad had a fantastic afternoon of netball on Sunday, competing against teams from Down, Banbridge, Moira, and Newry. The fast-paced tournament format encouraged quick thinking, adaptability, and teamwork, while promoting enjoyment and development. Players rotated roles throughout the games, building confidence, communication, and understanding of the game. The squad embraced the competitive yet fun atmosphere, learning from each match and reinforcing the core values of social netball: participation, positivity, and fun.
