Newcastle Pinks 35 – Strabane 22
The Newcastle Pinks travelled to Antrim to face long-time rivals Strabane last Wednesday—a team who have often proved a nemesis in past seasons. Determined to turn the tables, the Pinks arrived with focus, composure, and the clear goal of coming away with a win.
From the opening whistle, Newcastle made their intentions clear. They capitalised on every gain, forced errors through relentless defensive pressure, and maintained strong attacking connections throughout the court. Their ability to get into the opposition’s heads, force turnovers, and transition swiftly to goal was a feature of the match.
In attack, movement was slick and creative, with the shooters producing an incredible display of accuracy and composure. Despite having no substitutes and it being a physically demanding match, the Pinks dug deep and maintained intensity right to the final whistle—testament to their fitness and unity as a team.
