A REPLICA gun was discovered when police carried out searches in Newcastle last week. The imitation firearm was seized, along with a small quantity of Class A drugs, during Thursday evening’s operation, which focused on two properties.
Details of the incident, along with an image of the imitation firearm, were initially outlined on the Police Newry, Mourne and Down social media accounts. During the operation, which was carried out by local officers plus members of a PSNI Tactical Support Group, one man was arrested. He was subsequently released on police bail to allow for further enquiries.
