A schoolgirl injured in a bus accident outside a Ballynahinch grammar school last week “continues to make a good recovery.”
In a message issued to parents and guardians of the girls who attend Assumption Grammar School, its vice principal, Marcelle Orsi, added that the student “remains very much in our thoughts and prayers.”
The teenager was rushed to hospital last Tuesday (20 January) following the incident, which occurred around 8.10am, close to the school’s entrance on the Belfast Road.
Within hours of the incident, and following the teenager’s hospital admission, school principal Peter Dobbin described it as a “bus accident” and confirmed one of the school’s pupils had been involved.
In a follow-up message last Wednesday, Mrs. Orsi told parents and guardians: “We are pleased to report that our student continues to make a good recovery, and she remains very much in our thoughts and prayers.”
At the time, Translink confirmed one of its vehicles was involved, that an investigation had been initiated, and that it was assisting police with their enquiries.
