IN the Morgan Fuels Senior Championship, Kilcoo, perennial winners of this championship, play Glenn at the semi-final stage.
Glenn are in the last four for the second year on the spin after a commanding quarter-final victory over Bryansford. They pack a punch in attack, with Shay Millar, Jack McCartan and Joe Sands all strong.
Oran Byrne has been a revelation this year and Patrick Brooks gives Glenn both pace and power in the back-line.
Kilcoo’s armoury remains packed. Aaron Branagan hasn’t featured yet, Ryan Johnston missed their quarter final win with an ankle problem, yet they still looked formidable with Paul Devlin and Conor Laverty both making their returns.
Jerome Johnston looks to be in great form, Ryan McEvoy is showcasing his versatility and with Miceal Rooney and Ceilum Doherty as energetic as ever, the Magpies will be hard to shift.
Burren and Carryduff looks to be the pick of the semi-finals.
Both squads are packed with talent and each management team will know they have five or six men who could massively impact the game off the bench.
With Eoin Donnelly’s size and presence, Carryduff will hope to get a grip of the midfield but if Burren can get enough balls forward to Ryan Treanor and Niall Toner, they have incredible potential to rack up a huge score.
This could be a ding-dong affair if both decide to go at it and it could take extra time or even a replay to separate them.
Kilcoo play Glenn at 6.30pm on Saturday in Páirc Esler. Burren play Carryduff on Sunday at 6pm, at Páirc Esler.
