Six-year-old Archie, from Dundrum, is taking action to keep his village clean as part of his birthday weekend celebrations, and he’s inviting the whole community to join him!

This Saturday (5 April), Archie, along with his little sister Poppy (4), will kick off the day with a sponsored tea, coffee, and scones fundraiser at Scopers Hot Food Bar from 10 am to noon, with all donations going to the Dundrum Village Association to support the upkeep of the village.

Following the fundraiser, volunteers will head out to clean up Dundrum, covering areas such as the Main Street, the coast, and up towards the dam.

The event aims to bring the community together and raise awareness about littering. Archie was inspired to organise the event after noticing rubbish around the village and feeling upset that people weren’t disposing of it properly.

His passion for protecting the environment has also inspired many of his classmates at Annsborough Integrated Primary School, who have taken an interest in his efforts and want to help too.

Archie doesn’t just want to clean up Dundrum — he wants to help the world by encouraging others to take care of their surroundings.
