A NEWCASTLE charity is picking up the pieces after its premises suffered “substantial damage” during Storm Éowyn.
The ferocious power of the storm on Friday caused widespread destruction across the district.
It has widely been described as one of the worst storms here in living memory.
At its peak there were winds of more than 90mph.
Ark Community Gardens is situated just off the Castlewellan Road in Newcastle. Joanna McCall the charity’s director said, “We have incurred substantial storm damage to five tunnels, both structurally and with all the plastic needing replacing.”
In the current issue read how the Ark have dealt with the damage and how they plan to recover. Plus see many more images of the damage that was caused by the storm.
