Vehicle run in memory of Cherline will raise funds for two wonderful causes
THE husband of the late Cherline Flynn has thanked Claragh Bridge Vintage Club for organising an event in memory of his wife.
The Claragh Bridge Tractor Run will take place on 4 May and will also include other vintage vehicles.
The event will raise money for the Air Ambulance and Daisy Lodge. The two charities meant a lot to Cherline.
Declan told the Mourne Observer why the upcoming fundraiser is so special.
“She was a good supporter of tractor runs and the Claragh Bridge club,” he said.
“She still made it up to events even when she was sick.
“She loved to go to the runs as a spectator, and she would have taken a seat in a tractor if there was one going.
“So it is an honour for them to decide to have a run in her memory. I would like to thank them for doing it in her memory.”
Declan said that Cherline valued the two charities because she felt their work was so important.
“I would encourage everyone to come out and support the event,” he added.
“I hope it is a good day, and that farmers can afford to take a bit of time away, even though they haven’t had too many good days of late.”
