THE county football championships throw in this weekend, at junior, intermediate and senior level and the Warrenpoint manager John Boyle admitted that he believes his team will be motivated following last year’s disappointment in the top tier.

In tomorrow’s Mourne Observer (Wednesday), as part of the paper’s championship preview coverage, John Boyle explains that last year’s underwhelming performance in the championship must drive the players on.

He told the Mourne Observer, “We were disappointed with how last year went so we will be looking to make amends, and make a bit of an imprint on it this year.

“For the club and the people around it the championship is the be all and end all and that is what you are judged on.”

In the full article, John explains how the new rules have helped Warrenpoint this year, how his team has changed from last year, and what they learned from the 2024 campaign.

Plus, read previews of the Senior, Intermediate and Junior Football Championships as well as interviews with Bryansford’s Jim Magorrian, Clonduff boss Gearoid Adams and Teconnaught manager John Clarke.
