SACRED Heart Primary School in Dundrum held a special event at the school over the weekend to commemorate its 50th anniversary. The school community, including current and past pupils and their parents, came together on Saturday morning for a wonderful ‘Trip Down Memory Lane’ event. There was a fantastic turnout of people who had been associated with the school over the years. Nostalgia and reflection were very much part of the vibe as everyone enjoyed the archives and memorabilia on show. People also got the chance to tour the school building.
Sacred Heart Primary School principal Mark Fitzsimons would like to extend a sincere thanks to the staff of the school for their organisation and running of the event. Gratitude is also extended to all those who contributed material. He said that 50 years on their current site is a milestone to be proud of. Their next event to celebrate the anniversary will be a Gala Ball on the 2 March 2024 in the Burrendale Hotel, Newcastle.
