THE Communities minister has said he is more than happy to engage with Down GAA’s Ballykinlar hub project.
Gordon Lyons stated this in the Assembly on Monday after he was asked by South Down MLA Cathy Mason (Sinn Fein) about what support he could give to the forthcoming ‘centre of excellence’.
In November, €15,383, 951 was awarded to the Ballykinlar Centre of Participation, Wellbeing and Shared Learning Hub – which received planning permission in 2021 – through the EU’s PEACEPLUS Programme.
In the chamber on Monday, Mrs Mason initially asked the minister to ‘outline what support he will provide to grassroots sports clubs’.
In the full story Cathy Mason and Colin McGrath pressed the minister on the matter. Read the story now.
