WORK is set to get underway this month on the refurbishment of the 120-year-old Water Superintendent’s house at the entrance to Silent Valley.
NI Water has said the scheme is part of its ‘ongoing commitment to protecting listed assets’ in its care.
Constructed by the Belfast City and District Water Commissioners at the turn of the 20th century, the two-story granite structure was built to house the superintendent during the construction of the Silent Valley Reservoir.
